Flight to the Future

The interior design concept has been prepared for one UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) laboratory workshop as a sample.

The shape of a drone was accepted as a design concept and is expressed in some elements of interior, such as lighting fixtures, wall decoration, etc.

The colour selection based on the UAV brand book: white and grey are dominated, magenta and cyan are used as accents.

Table tops are made from OSB engineered wood panels. It will give a warmer look to the interior. Besides this, they are lightweight, easy to handle and install and have good strength properties.

As the chosen flooring material is vinyl it perfectly matches with school needs: easier and faster to clean, high traffic resistance, long lasting appearance.

The chairs are plastic with wheels. They are light grey which will keep the original look for a long period.

The pendant lighting has the drone’s shape. It is custom-made from MDF panels, painted white with an opaque, movable glass bottom. The LED strips are installed inside. Each Lighting fixture is 50W, 4000-4200K. The quantity of the lights will be chosen dependent upon classroom size.

Along one transverse wall a bookcase with desks is installed. The skeleton is made from steel painted tubes and the shelves from OSB boards. Between the bookshelves and the desks, a metallic sheet is placed for keeping the notes and sketches by magnets.

In the centre of the workshop is placed a large table. The legs and structural elements are painted steel elements and the top – from OSB board.

The other transverse wall is designed for the logo. Small drone-shape elements are used as pattern, printed on a self-adhesive film. The colours are chosen according to the brand book.
