The private house is located in Gyumri (Ghorganyan street), in Kumayri historical and cultural reserve. It is a two floors house with a total area of 96.23 square meters. The main volume was built in 1968, and additional volume was added by the yard in 1970. The main façade is made by being close to the architectural image of Gyumri․ The ground floor is made of rough basalt and the first floor is made of Gyumri tuff.
Ghorghanyan street is built with one or two-storey residential houses, some of which have a similar architectural approach, decorated with black tuff.
According to the project, it is proposed to add one floor to the existing building. Taking into account the general two-storey construction of the street and the high cornice crowning the first floor, it is proposed to install the second floor, set back from the front of the building. This will visually reduce the overall height of the new floor, and at the same time, it will be used as a balcony for the second floor.
The part built in the second stage is proposed to be dismantled and the structure has been expanded from the yard. The roof is designed to be flat, non-exploitable. The staircase leading to the roof is given by the yard and it is not visible from street level. The exterior of the main façade is designed to be maintained with the same approach as on the first two floors, and the main courtyard with a contrasting approach, with large glass volumes, and painted surfaces. It is planned to build a two-storey guest house in the Northern part of the land, and a summer kitchen with a dining area on the Southern side.
